Cynthia Wiel  is a member of the firm. Her practice concentrates on administrative law, business law, health care law, and wine & liquor regulation. Ms. Wiel represents corporations and associations in their dealings with State and Local government. In the area of health care, Ms. Wiel has extensive experience with the State of Tennessee's Medicaid Program TennCare including but not limited to the drafting and negotiating of contracts and the implementation of its programs. Ms. Wiel has extensive experience  drafting legislation, advising clients on the effect of pending legislation and representing clients in contracting with the State of Tennessee.

Representative Matters.

With William B. Hubbard, Robyn Smith and Marc R. Jenkins, reached a settlement with the State of Tennessee for $20 million for its failure to disclose information it possessed regarding the health conditions of enrollees assigned to a TennCare Managed Care Organization.

Represented health maintenance organization in all aspects of implementation of the State of Tennessee's Medicaid Long-Term Care Program (CHOICES) 

 With Bill Hubbard,  represented Tennessee wineries in an action challenging the state winery law under the Commerce Clause and drafted legislation which resulted in dismissal of litigation.

State of Tennessee ex. rel. Commissioner of Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance v. Universal Care of Tennessee in Liquidation, Davidson County Chancery Court Case No. 03-1614-II, (with Bill Hubbard, Robyn Smith and Marc Jenkins reached settlement for $3 million against former directors and officers of defunct TennCare managed care organization for breach of fiduciary duty and mismanagement).
